Project: Fitzroy Island Resort
In 2022 Descent Productions ran a week long film project on Fitzroy Island to produce their new campaign, promoting the Resort as the premier destination to host business events and functions, and as a spectacular tourism destination. Fitzroy Island Resort required a film production team with a diverse skill set to capture a range of topside tourism, resort and business focused footage, in addition to spectacular underwater visuals.
Our team ran all aspects of the production from pre-production, sourcing talent, to on location production and managing run sheets, through to post production, where our in house editing team sorted through hundreds of gigabytes of footage and raw imagery to deliver two distinct films. The first, showcasing the glory of Fitzroy Island Resort as a tourism and travel destination, and the second, promoting the resort as the premier destination to host business events and functions. These films were produced in addition to an array of still images.
The Promotional Films
These are the films our team produced for Fitzroy Island Resort’s latest campaign. In addition to the two hero films, shorter 30 second social overviews have been provided for both films.
The Hero Shot
While there are an abundance of turtles on Fitzroy Island, this shot took a significant amount of dedication by both our camera crew and talent. Positioning is everything, and even the slightest breeze or ripple would throw our shot out of balance. In addition to fighting the elements, we also had to emit a constant aura of calmness in order to gain the turtles trust. After all, the turtle is the primary talent in this shot!
The Brochure
Understandably Fitzroy Island Resort were so stoked with our work, they proceeded to update their brochure to our Hero Shot. Attached is their front cover below. Our work didn’t only make the front cover, every single shot inside the brochure was also captured throughout this project.
The Image Gallery
Alongside film production which was our teams primary objective, our photographers also captured a range of still imagery above and below the water.
